Halloween Ideas for Whittier
A few ideas to help your Whittier event go smoothly.
What can we rent for a trunk-or-treat in Whittier?
Start with the train. Kids ride right aboard the Mountain Majestic Express, and because it's trackless it rolls on flat church parking lots, parks and fields, so it can loop right past the trunks. Add a bounce house or combo for the little ones and your trunk-or-treat is set.
Can kids ride the trackless train in costume?
Yes, and it's the best seat in the house for a costume parade. Kids stay seated and ride in whatever they wore, so superheroes and princesses can wave to the crowd.
Which inflatables work best for a fall festival?
A good fall festival lineup in Whittier is an obstacle course for the big kids plus a combo or bounce house for the small ones. Dry slides are another good fit for a cool October day.
How do cooler evenings and early dark change the plan?
Late-October evenings in the mountains cool off fast, and it gets dark early. Plan inflatable time for the afternoon, and do a quick costume check before kids jump: masks, capes and props come off first. Give us a call and we'll talk through timing for your event.
How far ahead should Whittier churches and schools book for Halloween?
Halloween is on a Saturday this year, October 31, so most churches and schools around Whittier will be eyeing the same weekend. The sooner you call 828-827-5669, the better your odds of getting the train and the unit you want.

What Families Are Saying
Halloween FAQ
Common questions from Swain County families and groups.
Do you rent a trackless train for trunk-or-treat events in Whittier?
Yes. We rent the Mountain Majestic Express, a trackless train that kids ride right aboard. It runs on flat surfaces like parking lots, parks and fields, so it fits a church or school trunk-or-treat. Call 828-827-5669 for a rental quote for your date.
Can kids wear costumes in a bounce house?
Costumes are great on the train. For inflatables, we recommend taking off masks, capes, props and anything with sharp edges before kids jump, so little ones can see clearly and the unit stays safe. A quick costume check at the entrance does the trick.
Which rentals work best for a fall festival in Whittier?
For a big crowd, the trackless train and an obstacle course keep kids moving and the line going. Bounce houses and combos are perfect for the little ones. Tell us your expected crowd and space, and we'll help you pick.
What if it gets cold or dark early on Halloween?
Late October evenings in the mountains cool off fast, and it gets dark early. Plan your inflatable time for the afternoon while it's light, and call us to talk through timing for your event. Inflatables are never used in high winds or lightning.
How far ahead should we book for Halloween weekend?
As soon as you have a date. Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so trunk-or-treats, fall festivals and costume parties will all fall on the same weekend. Call 828-827-5669 and we'll check what's open.
