Halloween Ideas for Highlands
What to rent, when to book and what to expect.
What can we rent for a trunk-or-treat in Highlands?
Most trunk-or-treats we set up in Highlands start with our trackless train. It runs on flat ground like parking lots and fields, so kids can ride a lap past the decorated trunks between treats. A bounce and slide combo on the side keeps the youngest guests happy.
Can kids ride the trackless train in costume?
Absolutely. The train is our most costume-friendly ride: kids sit, ride and wave in full costume, capes and all. Parents, have your phones ready for the photos.
Which inflatables work best for a fall festival?
Mix it up by age. An obstacle course gives bigger kids a head-to-head race, while a bounce house or combo keeps the littles bouncing. Our standard dry units fit right in at a fall festival.
How do cooler evenings and early dark change the plan?
Mountain evenings get chilly and dark comes early this time of year, so we suggest an afternoon start for the inflatables. Have a grown-up at the entrance for a costume check, with masks, capes and props off before jumping. Call us to plan your timing.
How far ahead should Highlands churches and schools book for Halloween?
As early as you can. Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026, so trunk-or-treats and fall festivals will stack up on the same weekend. Call 828-827-5669 to check your date.

Halloween FAQ
Answers to what folks ask before they call.
Do you rent a trackless train for trunk-or-treat events in Highlands?
Yes. We rent the Mountain Majestic Express, a trackless train that kids ride right aboard. It runs on flat surfaces like parking lots, parks and fields, so it fits a church or school trunk-or-treat. Call 828-827-5669 for a rental quote for your date.
Can kids wear costumes in a bounce house?
Costumes are great on the train. For inflatables, we recommend taking off masks, capes, props and anything with sharp edges before kids jump, so little ones can see clearly and the unit stays safe. A quick costume check at the entrance does the trick.
Which rentals work best for a fall festival in Highlands?
For a big crowd, the trackless train and an obstacle course keep kids moving and the line going. Bounce houses and combos are perfect for the little ones. Tell us your expected crowd and space, and we'll help you pick.
What if it gets cold or dark early on Halloween?
Late October evenings in the mountains cool off fast, and it gets dark early. Plan your inflatable time for the afternoon while it's light, and call us to talk through timing for your event. Inflatables are never used in high winds or lightning.
How far ahead should we book for Halloween weekend?
As soon as you have a date. Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so trunk-or-treats, fall festivals and costume parties will all fall on the same weekend. Call 828-827-5669 and we'll check what's open.
Do you deliver to Highlands, NC?
Yes. Highlands is in Macon County, about an hour and 35 minutes from our home base near Andrews, and it's in our delivery area. It's one of our longer mountain drives, so the earlier you book, the better. Call 828-827-5669 with your address and date, and we'll confirm delivery details. Because Highlands is farther than 25 miles from our Andrews location (126 Main St), the fee is based on distance; call 828-827-5669 or check out for a quote.
